What a fantastic weekend of storytelling, creativity, and inspiration at the District 55 Toastmasters Speech Contests!
Friday Night – Tall Tales Contest
Our weekend kicked off with a night full of laughter and imagination as contestants spun their wildest yarns during the Tall Tales Contest.

Taking First Place was Robert Howell, who delighted us all with a tale of the day he helped none other than Superman himself!

Second Place went to Amy Samet, and Third Place was awarded to James Lowrey—both of whom brought big energy and even bigger stories to the stage.
Saturday – International Speech Contest
Saturday’s International Speech Contest brought heart, humor, and deeply personal storytelling.
Amy Samet claimed First Place with a heartfelt speech about the special bond she shares with her dog—reminding us all of the lessons love and loyalty can teach.

Joseph Todd earned Second Place, and Phillip Smith came in Third, both delivering powerful and compelling messages.
Congratulations to all our contestants—you made us laugh, reflect, and cheer. Your courage and craft inspire our entire district.
We can’t wait to see what’s next for our champions!
