Behind every thriving Toastmasters district is a team of leaders working together to help clubs and members succeed. In District 55, that team is known as the Trio: three key leadership roles that oversee and guide the district’s direction, programs, and growth.

District Director: Kevin F Clark The District Director is the chief executive officer of the district. Kevin sets the overall strategic direction and leads the Trio, making sure the district’s goals line up with Toastmasters’ mission and that everyone is pulling in the same direction.

Kevin Clark joined his home club TMHP Toastmasters in 2018. During his Toastmasters journey he has been a member of Toast With Confidence, The Paper Club, Dynamic Public Speakers, Top Notch Trainers, Kerrville Area Toastmasters, and Gavel Masters.

His leadership roles have included all club officer positions, Club Coach, Club Mentor, Club Sponsor, Area Director, Division Director, District Administration Manager, Club Growth Director, Program Quality Director, and now District Director.

He has completed the Presentation Mastery Path, and has reached level four in Innovative Planning, Leadership Development, and Engaging Humor paths. He is actively working towards his Distinguished Toastmaster award.

Program Quality Director: Tracey James, DTM Tracey is responsible for the educational side of the district. That means scheduling training for club officers, and district leaders. The program Quality Director promotes and tracks club performance to help clubs and the district achieve Distinguished status. She plans, organizes, and executes the annual district conference, and helps with site selection.

Tracey James is a member of three clubs, Future Speakers on the Horizon, Alamo Heights and Beyond Basics. She’s been a Toastmaster since 2010.

Club Growth Director: Bill Friedrich, DTM Bill focuses on marketing, building new clubs, and driving membership growth. His work helps more people discover Toastmasters and ensures existing clubs have the support they need to attract and keep members.

Bill Friedrich has been a Toastmaster since 2012. He is currently a member of two clubs: Alamo Heights (2014) and Gavel Masters (2025). He has served in all club officer roles as well as Area Governor, Area Director, Division Director, District Public Relations Manager, and chaired and served on several district committees.

Better Together

Each role has its own focus, but the real strength of the Trio is how they work as a team: strong direction, quality programs, and steady growth all reinforce one another. Whether you’re a new member or a longtime club officer, these three leaders are here to support you.
