Officer Training

Officer training takes place twice each year; in the summer and again in the winter.  All Toastmasters are encouraged to attend, not just officers. You are welcome to attend any, or all, training. Details for Club and Officer Credit

Starting this month until the end of August, officers have the ability to gain or refresh the knowledge needed to create a quality club, lead your club to success, and to see how a club executive team works together. We are offering two different training formats this year, to get the skills you need and to earn credit towards the Distinguished Club Program!

Club Officer Training (COT)
Club Officer Training (COT) provides essential training for club officers and teaches the fundamentals of club leadership. COTs may be offered as part of a TLI or as a stand-alone training event focused exclusively on officer training.

Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI)

A Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI) includes Club Officer Training along with a variety of opportunities to learn a diverse array of leadership skills. They include keynote presentations, district updates, networking opportunities, and educational workshops. TLIs are designed for club officers and any member interested in growing as a leader and communicator.

What's the difference between TLI and COT?

  • Stand-alone COTs focus exclusively on core club officer fundamentals

  • TLIs include COT plus keynote speakers, district presentations, networking opportunities, and workshops with deeper dives into club dynamics

  • Both stand-alone COTs and TLIs award club officers with training credit for the Distinguished Club Program
