Star and Elite Member Awards:

DESCRIPTION: Two separate award offerings
The three categories are Marketing, Education, and Leadership.
Marketing Activities
1) Sponsor a new member into your club
2) Provide a lead to charter a new club
3) Serve as a club sponsor or club mentor
4) Serve as a successful club coach
5) Organize or support a club open house or membership drive
6) Attend a marketing workshop or coach/sponsor mentor training
7) Organize a Speechcraft program or a Youth Leadership Program
Education Activities
1) Be a club officer and attend District-sponsored officer training
2) Conduct one module from Better Speaker Series to one of your clubs
3) Earn one Communication award (CC, ACB, ACS, ACG)
4) Earn one Leadership award (CL, ALB, ALS, DTM)
5) Present a manual speech or a module from the Better Speaker Series to a club in which you are not a member
6) Attend two education sessions at either or both District Fall or Spring conferences

- 1st CC/CL: Earn your first Competent Communicator (CC) award AND your first Competent Leader (CL) award and receive $25 in District 55 BUCK$.

- PHASE I: Fourteen gift cards will be awarded: two per Division. In each Division there will be two drawings: one for those who received a Communication Award and one for those who received a Leadership Award.

2015-2016 Membership Building Promotions
Uber Membership Blitz:
The club that adds the most members between June 24-30 will receive a $100 gift certificate.
DATES: June 24 - June 30, 2016
RECIPIENTS: Clubs in existence and Active as of June 23, 2016
DESCRIPTION: The Club that recruits the most new, dual, or reinstated members between June 24th and June 30th will receive a $100.00 D55 BUCK$ gift card.
The expiration date for the District 55 BUCK$ will be June 30, 2017.
HOW TO CLAIM: Automatic, based on actual member applications received at Toastmasters International. The winning Club President will be notified by August 1, 2016
Open House Promotion:
Reimbursement for expenses incurred holding an Open House.
DATES:
DESCRIPTION: Established Clubs holding an Open House can receive a reimbursement for approved expenses.
HOW TO CLAIM:
A club is entitled to a maximum of one reimbursement per quarter.
Qualify Promotion:
Reach the DCP qualifying requirement of 20 paid members or a net gain of 5 members by April 1 to be entered into a drawing for a prize.
DATES:
DESCRIPTION: Clubs that attain their Distinguished Club membership qualification level, i.e. have A) at least 20 paid members or B) a net gain of 5 members from the July 1, 2015 base will be entered into a drawing for a prize of their choice.
HOW TO CLAIM: Automatic. The Phase I drawing will be held on April 15th. The Phase II drawing will be held August 1, 2016. The winning club President will be notified by telephone.
Membership BLITZ - Clubs:
Add members to your club and be entered into a drawing for a gift certificate.

RECIPIENTS: Clubs
DESCRIPTION: Clubs that add new, reinstated, or dual members from June 4 - June 30 will be entered into a drawing for $20 in District 55 BUCK$ gift certificates, one ticket per member added. Five gift certificates will be given away.
The expiration date for the District 55 BUCK$ will be June 30, 2017.
HOW TO CLAIM: Automatic. The drawing will be held on or before August 1, 2016. Winning Club Presidents will be notified after the drawing.

Add members to your Area and be entered into a drawing for a gift certificate.

RECIPIENTS: Area Directors
DESCRIPTION: Directors of Areas that add one member per club from June 4 - June 30 will be entered into a drawing for a full Fall 2016 Conference Registration (value: ~$130). For example, an Area with five clubs needs to add five members for the Area Director to be entered into the drawing. If that same Area adds 10 members, that Area Director will have two tickets in the drawing.
HOW TO CLAIM: Automatic. The drawing will be held on or before August 1, 2016. The winning Area Director will be contacted after the drawing.
District 55 Membership Building Promotion:
Smedley, Talk Up Toastmasters, and Beat the Clock winners will be entered into a drawing for prizes.

HOW TO CLAIM:
- Club officers determine when to have an Open House and what will be done to make it a success.
- A club member sends an email to Club Growth Director Linda Oliver (d55cgd@tmd55.org) to sign up. Include in the email what purchases are planned.
- After the Open House, a club member sends Linda: A) a copy of the invitation/flier, B) attendance list of both members and guests, C) filled out Voucher for Reimbursement form along with hard copy receipts. All paperwork must be received by Linda within 30 days of the Open House or June 20, 2016, whichever is sooner.
A club is entitled to a maximum of one reimbursement per quarter.

New Club Chartering Promotion:
Clubs that charter will receive a personalized banner. Clubs that charter within 30 days of the demonstration meeting will receive additional prizes.

LIMIT: The first 30 clubs to submit valid forms will receive this award.
Golden Gavel Meeting Award:
A prestigious Award for clubs who truly demonstrate excellence during club meetings!

DESCRIPTION: Clubs that conduct a truly exceptional club meeting with a District Officer present will earn a Golden Gavel Meeting banner ribbon, Golden Gavel Meeting pins for the members who participated in the meeting, and recognition at the Fall and Spring Conferences. LIMIT: One award per club
The club must meet all 11 of the following criteria:
HOW TO CLAIM: Invite your Area Director to your meeting, stating that the purpose is for him or her to evaluate your meeting as a Golden Gavel meeting. Your Area Director will determine whether or not all the criteria have been met.
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS for the Area Director: Fill out the Criteria worksheet during the meeting, noting attending club members names on the 2nd page. If all the criteria have been met, fill out and submit the On-line Submission Form.
Pacesetter Award:
Win a $25 gift certificate if your club reaches five Distinguished Program goals by December 15.

Only one prize per club per Toastmaster year.
- Super 7 Elite: Clubs that have seven officers trained in BOTH training cycles will be entered into a drawing for either a customized banner, a banner stand, a lectern, a timing light, or $50 in District 55 BUCK$. Drawing will take place at the Spring 2016 Conference

The club must meet all 11 of the following criteria:
- Members and guests are greeted warmly and enthusiastically.
- Guests are given a guest packet that consists at a minimum of a membership application, Features Benefits and Values chart, and a Toastmasters magazine.
- Meeting starts and adjourns on time.
- 15 or more Toastmaster members of the club are present. Clubs with membership below 20 have 75% of club members present
- At least one non-Toastmaster guest is present.
- There is applause after every speaker and meeting participant presentation.
- All prepared speeches are MANUAL speeches.
- Evaluations are written in the prepared speakers' manual and in role players' Competent Leader manuals. Oral evaluations are both specific and supportive.
- Members and guests wear badges or have name tents.
- Printed agendas are distributed and followed with three or fewer assignment changes to the agenda.
- Table Topics are interesting and/or fun.
HOW TO CLAIM: Invite your Area Director to your meeting, stating that the purpose is for him or her to evaluate your meeting as a Golden Gavel meeting. Your Area Director will determine whether or not all the criteria have been met.
