Hil Alcee, DTM

Our district has a fantastic foundation to build upon. With my Toastmaster experience in strategic planning, training, chartering new quality clubs, and strengthening existing clubs to my experience in business analytics, finance, change management, technology and customer focused initiatives, I plan to strengthen the overall experience in District 55.

These credentials will transfer into an initiative that will allow us to focus in making a better experience in our district with a lower level of effort. Together we will be able to uphold a higher member retention, better engage our members and district leadership, and provide an engaging environment in which more outside communities and companies will want to take part.

Friends, Toastmasters International has been proactive in providing a better experience for its members and its leaders. District 55 can be the best in setting that example. Our pathways are connected, let’s achieve excellence together.

Please vote Hil Alcee, DTM for District Director.

I would be honored to be elected your 2017-2018 District Director. Having a passion to lead you, your club, area, division, and district in the Toastmasters mission also takes TEAMWORK.  We want to empower you to be more effective communicators, listeners, thinkers, and leaders.

Here are ways we will serve our “Members in Motion” at the club, area, division, and district level:
  1. We will have a Young Professionals’ Coordinator
  2. Our members will be prepared for Pathways launching
  3. We will generate a District Newsletter, Speakers Bureau, and Mentoring Program
  4. We will promote School Youth Leadership and Gavel Clubs

Vision, core-values, fiscal-responsibility, self-management, competency, building clubs, and healthy communications are vital in leading District 55 to President’s Distinguished next year. I will work with all the energy and enthusiasm I have with our TEAM to make this dream a reality.

Please vote Linda Oliver, DTM for District Director.

As the nominated candidate for the office of District 55 Program Quality Director, I bring a variety of successful leadership experiences, a commitment to the club member, and passion for our District mission.

Since joining Toastmasters, I have served as Club President for a President’s Distinguished Elite club, President’s Distinguished Area Governor and Area Governor of the Year in 2014-2015, President’s Distinguished Division Director, and as the current Club Growth Director.

My commitment to our members is evidenced by serving as mentor to both individual members and to new clubs. My passion for the District mission of building and supporting clubs is shown by my service on district committees, and sponsorship of several new clubs.

Above all, my own success in Toastmasters drives my continuing commitment to district excellence, ensuring that each member has the opportunity and the necessary resources to succeed.

Please vote Melody Moore, DTM for Program Quality Director.

William Friedrich, DTM

In the humblest way possible, I consider myself a servant-leader who believes in putting members of the organization before myself. This philosophy was developed from my 34 years of leadership experience, formal training and education including a twenty-four-year military service, experience acquired from 16 years volunteering for the Boy Scouts of America and five years in Toastmasters.  I also served as a human resources director, which made me value the importance of people and their development.

For our members, I will strive in leveraging an existing foundation of strong skills in critical thinking, organization, strategic planning, process-analysis, collaboration, coordination, delegation and communication.  To elevate our culture of quality and excellence.

As a leader, I commit to considering individuals involved in all decisions that need to be made.  You have a voice, you will be heard.

Please vote William Friedrich, DTM, for Club Growth Director

Wafae Owen, DTM

Picture
I am a 15-year dedicated Toastmaster, a President‘s Distinguished Division Governor and Area Governor, and a passionate Pathways Ambassador.  At my Elite President’s Distinguished Lakeline Toastmasters Club, I have served in all club officer roles.  My extensive club growth experience includes chartering, sponsoring and mentoring new clubs and participating in demo-meetings.  Both as a business professional with an MBA and as a Toastmaster, I am recognized for being a team-builder, proven leader, and an inspirational mentor and teacher.

As Club Growth Director, my ultimate goal will be creating effective teams to charter, sponsor and mentor new clubs, strengthen and sustain existing clubs and increase Toastmasters brand awareness.  I understand that program quality is the key to membership retention and will work with club leaders to build value, trust, and consistency, ensuring every Toastmaster’s experience is a remarkable one.

With extensive leadership experience and big dreams for our District, I am your Club Growth Champion!

Please vote Wafae Owen, DTM for Club Growth Director.

Division E – Blanca Kelley, ACS, ALB

Picture
As a life-long learner and an education advocate, I am confident that I can successfully promote the most valuable tool that a Toastmaster club has at its disposal, the Distinguished Club Program, during my year of service.

My five year journey has taught me that participation, knowledge and understanding are the keys that unlock opportunities and help members grow personally and professionally.  I would share the keys with the newly elected Area Directors who have shown distinctive qualities to lead club officers to improve the health of their area clubs.

Accessibility is essential in forming partnerships and fostering cooperation.  I was impressed with the sharing of knowledge and data by the Division Director who assisted me during my tenure as Area Director for the Rio Grande Valley.  I will follow in those footsteps should I be elected to be the next Division Director.

Please vote Blanca Kelley, ACS, ALB for Division E Director

Division F – Kathy Moore, DTM

I believe the skills that I bring to the table from years of training are:
  • My ability to motivate and inspire people
  • My resourcefulness and my networking skills.
Because I am a good listener, I quickly recognize what needs to get done.
My resourcefulness helps me to get it done.

I love helping other Toastmasters grow and develop just the way I was mentored by people like Doug Kelly and Deb Arrington. I am looking forward to finding practical ways to make improvements in Division F in a way that allow people to grow and stretch themselves and to have FUN. I am also very excited to help Pathways become the best Leadership Training tool in San Antonio.

Please vote Kathy Moore, DTM for Division F Director.

Division G – Jason Wold, DTM

For the past four years, I have been an active and engaged Toastmaster, helping at all levels of training, contest, whether at the club or at the district level.  I was privileged to serve as an Area Director twice and I have served as club officers in two different clubs.

It is my hope that we share the following beliefs and goals:
  • Together we believe that all our members are important
  • Together we believe that Toastmasters provides quality skills like no other program
  • Everyone can meet their goals with the right support
Today I am asking for your vote, so together we can support every member and succeed together.

Please vote Jason Wold, DTM for Division G Director.

I've been blessed to experience the benefits from and the generosity of Toastmasters.  It is impressive to watch how many people step up to serve with a willing heart to help others become better leaders and communicators.

I would love to bring an enhanced Toastmasters experience to others and serve District 55 in a manner which challenges me to keep growing.  I hope to do this as Division I Director in Austin.

I look forward to having the opportunity to work with this seasoned team.  This would allow me to utilize my visionary leadership skills, corporate background and creative teamwork in a manner which encourages each one of us to take our next step toward personal growth and team success.

Please vote Caren Hoehn, ACS, ALB for Division I Director.

Division J – Clifford Walker, ACB, ALB

Each of us can share intriguing tales regarding the pathways which have lead each of us to become a Toastmaster.  As I reflect on the map of my life, the milestones of my life and Toastmaster pilgrimage all clearly compel me to joyfully present myself as a candidate for Division J Director.

My strengths include leadership learned through my professional career as a supervisor, manager, and program director.  Since joining Toastmasters in 2013, experience is another strength gained through service as VPE, President, Assistant Area Director and as Area Director.  Other strengths include a steadfast spirit, a positive attitude, team-player dedication, and enduring patience.

Join me as together we lead the Division and District to grow in number and skill, and have fun on the journey.

Please vote:  Clifford Walker, ACB, ALB for Division J Director

Division K – Nichelle Guadalupe, ACS, ALB

I joined Toastmasters June of 2013, and have served as Club President of a Distinguished club. I am currently serving as Area K73 Director. My journey has been so rewarding! The family and support that I have gained is priceless!

Passion, creativity, and determination are some of the qualities that I will bring to the role of Division K Director. Toastmasters has given me an opportunity to improve myself and I believe it is important to help each member find their “why” in the program.

My goal is to incorporate more fun into the traditional elements of Toastmasters.

With this focus, I will help District 55 achieve success on each level within our District. I look forward to working to provide that wonderful gift of confidence, success, and family to other Toastmasters members. Help me provide success to Division K!

Please vote Nichelle Guadalupe, ACS, ALB for Divison K Director.

Division L – Calvin Cissel, ACB, ALB

Picture
I am a motivated Toastmaster, currently serving as Area L81 Director. I have club officer experience serving as Secretary, SAA, Treasurer, and VPM for a President’s Distinguished Club.

As a member of the inaugural District 55 SCRUM team, I was tasked with reaching out to Toastmasters all over the North Austin area, as well as helping coordinate district events. I’ve worked closely with members of our District 55 Leadership Trio, as well as Area and Division Directors to help assure Club, Area, Division and District success. Exposure to different meeting styles, and all aspects of club chartering and development has given me insight that many Toastmasters don’t get to experience.

I am honored to be nominated as Division L Director and would like the opportunity to lead Division L to further success over the next Toastmasters year.

Please vote Calvin Cissel, ACB, ALB for Division L Director.
