Recipe for a Youth Leadership Program

8/12/2019

Starting a youth leadership program is fairly simple; you just need: (follow the link to find out more.)
  1. Interested youth
  2. 2 Toastmaster coordinator(s)
  3. A location (cost varies)
  4. Order materials from TI. (cost varies based on how much you order)
  5. Establish date and time -8 to 9 weeks or 16 hrs
  6. Everything you need to know regarding running a YLP is outlined in the TM leader guide
  7. Have fun!
Snacks are optional at meetings, however I find that having snacks is always a huge draw for the kids. Snacks can be provided either by collecting a donation and you purchasing or making them, or having the family's rotate on bringing snacks each week.

Once you have completed the youth leadership program, ask your youth if they wanted to continue with a gavel club. That is about how we started Cedar Park 4H Gavel Club.
If you have any further questions please feel free to visit our meeting, email me directly or give me a  call at 530-220-3367.

Good luck with your project! If you want to know more, join me and some of my friends for a Q&A on how to work with youth in Gavel Clubs and Youth Leadership Programs. We look forward to visiting with you.
