Learning and applying leadership skills are important elements of success during your term as club Vice President Membership. Be sure to attend District-sponsored Club officer training events to learn how to fulfill your role effectively, network with other club officers in your District, and connect with trainers and District leaders who can help you in achieving success.
- Recruiting New Members to continually increase membership
- Conducting/promoting ongoing membership-building programs: membership drives, the Smedley Award, Talk Up Toastmasters and Beat the Clock
- Assisting guests: Answering emails, phone calls and other inquiries, inviting them to visit the next club meeting, greeting and making them feel welcome, asking them to fill out a Guest Information Card and Badge and giving them a Guest Packet
- Following-up with guests after the meeting
- Processing Membership Applications
- Arranging a vote and induction ceremony for any joining member
- Conducting new member orientation
- Attending the Club Executive meetings
- Participating as a member of the Area Council
You accomplish your responsibilities by:
- Promoting the club and managing the process of bringing in guests and transforming them into members
- Monitoring membership levels and strategizing with the rest of the executive committee about how to overcome membership challenges when they occur
- Recruiting a committee to assist you as you can't do it all yourself!
