Club Officer Corner

About Club Officers

Clubs are managed by up to seven elected club officers:
  • President
  • Vice President Education
  • Vice President Membership
  • Vice President Public Relations
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Sergeant-at-Arms
A club is required to have a minimum of three officers: a President, a Secretary, and one of the Vice Presidents. The President and the three Vice Presidents make up the Executive Officer team.

Officers are elected either annually or semi-annually. Clubs that meet weekly have the option to select the length of the term. Clubs that meet less than weekly must elect officers for an annual term. The annual term begins on July 1. The semi-annual terms begin on July 1 and January 1.

Just like members learn communications skills by doing manual speech projects and performing meeting roles, members can learn leadership skills by serving as club officers.

Get Comfortable with Club Central

Club Officers, are you comfortable with managing your club at Toastmasters Club Central? Do your new officers need an introduction or a how-to guide? If "yes" then check out Mike Raffety's “Getting Comfortable with Club Central” (PDF).
