AGs, DTMs, & DCP
Toastmasters International has soooo many acronyms, so let's talk about the first one -- AG... acronym for Area Governor. Did you know that the District will have THIRTY Area Governors for next term (July 2009 --June 2010)? And did you also know that we still have SEVEN of those areas still not assigned to anyone??? All of the open slots are in the Austin area, so why don't you step up and become one?? It's very easy, just email me at lget@tmd55.org or give me a call at 512/517-1777. If you aren't sure what an Area Governor does, then go to this link... http://www.toastmasters.org/NonNavigableDocs/AreaGovernor.aspx If you are moving towards becoming a DTM (darn, thereās another one of those acronyms... it means Distinguished Toastmaster), you must serve in District leadership for a year... go ahead, get started today!
DTM -- as I just explained this acronym, Distinguished Toastmaster is the highest level you can achieve in Toastmasters. All of the most recent DTMs will be honored at a ceremony at this year's Spring Conference on May 2nd in the evening. Will your name be on that list? If you will be achieving your DTM by April 24th, then please let me know this... I want to make sure you are honored along with several other Toastmasters that night!
DCP -- Distinguished Club Program, are the goals that all clubs work towards. During this past year, I had a recognition program going on to encourage clubs to become Distinguished by April 1st. Any club that becomes Distinguished by that time receives a gift certificate for $50; any club that becomes Select Distinguished receives a $75 gift certificate; and any club that becomes President's Distinguished receives a $100 gift certificate. Come to the Spring Conference during lunch and see if YOUR club receives a gift certificate. I'm looking forward to handing out LOTS of them!
