Message from Lieutenant Governor Education & Training Sharon Brown
December 18, 2011
This year the District Governor, Linda Williams DTM, has challenged us all to Make It Really Count!, and I am eager to accept her challenge.
I plan to make this year really count personally by completing the Competent Communicator and Competent Leader awards. In addition to my personal goals, I plan to make this year as Lieutenant Governor Education and Training really count for the District by focusing on:
- Promoting quality club programming in every club in the District.
- Helping each club meet the education needs of its members, and as a result end the year Distinguished or better. Ask your club officers about the Distinguished Club Program for more information on how you can help your club succeed.
- Recognizing and celebrating member achievement. As you reach your personal and club goals, we want to celebrate with you.
- Leading the District leadership team to provide quality training events throughout the District. In addition to club officer training, we’re planning other education and training events throughout the year. Visit the District Training page often for updates on planned events.
- Offering District Conferences that highlight member and club achievement, provide quality education sessions, and are fun events that allow our members to network with other members and connect with both old and new friends.
- Creating a monthly newsletter to highlight District announcements and highlight member and club success. Please click here to view my latest newsletter.
Join me in accepting the District Governor’s challenge. If you are a guest visiting our site to find out more about Toastmasters, you can Make It Really Count! by joining a Toastmasters club and starting your journey to communication and leadership success. If you are a current Toastmaster, set your communication and leadership goals, and communicate those goals to your club officers to include in the Club Success Plan.
