Toastmaster: Sonya Luechauer

Sonya Luechauer has spent the last 25 years in the ever-evolving mortgage industry. She is employed at DHI Mortgage, an affiliate of DR Horton, Inc., where she currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer. She has held various positions within the mortgage industry including origination, processing, underwriting, and management. She joined Toastmasters in January 2007. Although she has had considerable experience in public speaking, Toastmasters has helped to improve these skills as well as contributed to developing better communication and leadership skills. 

After growing up in Corpus Christi and going on to graduate from Southwest Texas State University, she moved to Austin and has lived here since 1981. She has been married for 17 years and has 3 children.
